The Idaho Chess Association held the Eastern Idaho Scholastic Novice Chess Championships on January 24, 2009 at Rimrock
Elementary School in Ammon, Idaho. 149 players competed in 5 divisions: Kindergarten and First Grade; Second Grade; Third
Grade; Fourth thru Sixth Grade; and Seventh Thru Twelfth Grade.  Team awards were also presented in each of the five
divisions.
